This is regarding Sadanand Dhume's "How Covid Bungling Can Win You an Election - WSJ."
There is no precision science for counting COVID fatalities. All methods are prone to errors and manipulations due to the complexities involved. The simple distinction between "from COVID" and "with COVID" is just one example. We recently heard about the CDC's "coding error" that ended up in the reduction of COVID fatality count by as many as 70,000. Given these facts, it is unfortunate, to the extent of being absurdly biased, to claim that Indians are undercounting their dead.
